Hi everyone!
I am mostly writing today to ask you to pray for me and my family. Tomorrow morning, I, my brother and his wife, and my father are all heading to KS to visit my uncle Jim (Papa’s brother) who has recently been diagnosed with cancer and hospitalized. A week ago, after he first went in, the prognosis did not look good. In fact, when Papa went to visit, he believed he might die that very weekend. Thankfully, that did not happen and he seems to be getting stronger, so we’re hoping that by the time we arrive he might even be home. Having said that, the cancer is still severe, having spread to many different places in his body, so we do not believe we will have him much longer. He’s 76, so while of course healing would be amazing, our prayer at this time is more that he and his family would truly come to know the love and comfort of the Lord through this. We would greatly appreciate your prayers for that, and that the Lord might use us while we are there this weekend.
On a different note, Monday morning I am leaving for TN, GA, and eventually FL, over the next month. Doors have opened up for me to speak at two churches, and two more are in the process of getting back to me. I am very excited about this trip. Not only have I felt quite cooped up in the house this last month, but I have felt this urgent need to get going and do what the Lord is telling me to. I have been sitting too long, and while I realize that it has only been a month, and I have been able to get quite a bit done in regards to planning and such, I ache to be out there doing. Well, I am finally about to head out to do something, and even though it isn’t exactly field work, I know the Lord is going to blow me out of the water with His provision.
Please continue to pray for my family, safe travel (my car has been acting up, and I really need it to make it through this trip!), and the abundant generosity and provision of the Lord. I hope to see many of you soon! (And yes, this is probably the shortest blog I have ever written, lol).
P.S. Again, everyone needs to read Beautiful Outlaw by John Eldredge, it is incredible and eye opening. I have been reading through the Gospel of John since I read it, and practically been in tears every time… Jesus is so beautiful. He is absolutely astounding. He is life; and He is OURS… amazing.
(pics – Fall is here! I really, really love fall and missed it last year, being on the Race. SO excited! I’m hoping to get some stunning pictures when our maple turns all the way =))
